Cheal is excited to share the news of Matt Ryder’s recent promotion. Announced at Cheal’s recent Awards Night, Matt has taken up the position of Technical Leader, Surveying for Cheal. “One element of the strategic growth of Cheal is to further strengthen our service offerings and the purpose of the Technical Leadership role is to bring a specified technical discipline together across the company. That person needs to be at the top of their technical game in terms of expertise and experience, and connectedness into the wider profession.” Beck Hawke, Chief Executive
Matt is a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor and has been a part of the Cheal team for 15 years and Taupo Survey Team Manager for 10 of those. He has a wide range of experience in rural and urban subdivisions, engineering and topographical surveys, large scale construction set-out and deformation monitoring. This work has involved local private individuals, developers, authorities, and large corporate firms. The range of work Matt has undertaken has given him the skills to work in various environments and adapt to changeable client demands onsite as required. Work involved has included both field and office work, including Quality Assurance and Health & Safety.
Matt is involved with the Cadastral Stream of Survey & Spatial New Zealand and is currently on a working group with Land Information New Zealand as a representative of Cadastral Surveyors in private practice as they navigate a huge upgrade to their land online system.
“Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with some of the most talented and dedicated professionals in Taupo. I look forward to extending our collaborative efforts across the whole company and achieving even greater success together” – Matt Ryder
