Alan has worked in the surveying profession since starting out as a cadet with the Hawkes Bay Regional Council in 1998, where he attained a National Diploma in Surveying. Alan then went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Surveying (with distinction) from Otago University in 2005.

Since then, Alan has undertaken numerous and various surveys throughout New Zealand, predominantly in Cadastral and Topographical surveying and engineering projects. Residing and working in the Hawkes Bay for many of his working years, Alan is very familiar with the Hawkes Bay region and its District Plans (Napier, Hastings, Wairoa and Central Hawkes Bay). He has also obtained and implemented consents to complete subdivisions in Upper Hutt and Auckland, applying his skills, knowledge and expertise to provide results for his clients.

Alan joined the Cheal team in 2018 and believes in giving friendly, down-to-earth and sound advice from the outset. He takes pride in providing quality outputs to assist in achieving successful project outcomes.
