Cheal is ecstatic to be category winner against some stiff opposition for ?Excellence in the Service Sector? at the 2019 Westpac Rotorua Business Excellence Awards.
When other businesses report on their past awards applications the comments are usually along the lines of ?a lot of hard work? or ?a good opportunity to look a bit deeper into the business? or ?really satisfying.? These are all true for the Cheal Rotorua team too, but the real benefit was that the process has brought them all closer together. As they worked through the awards application process together it reinforced to them the strength and resilience of the organisation?s systems and processes as well as simply enjoying each other?s company whilst at work.
As Nick Davies, Rotorua Regional Manager and Principal of Cheal says, ?the key to winning these awards is answering the question of ?why.? For example, why do we do the things we do? The team provided its answers to this in a 20-minute presentation to the Awards? Judges. We combined a typical subdivision consent application process with a ?day in the life of Cheal? and blew the Judges away with a comprehensive summary of why our service is top notch, where our focus lies and why we are in the jobs we are in.?
Winning the award for Excellence in the Service Sector award at the Westpac Rotorua Business Excellence Awards show that we must be doing more than a few things right!
